New NFL Widget Visualizes NGS Data

As an official stats partner with the NFL, Sportradar has exclusive access to player tracking data that allows us to create amazing and innovative products. Our newest product, the Quarterback Pass Protection widget, fits that bill with the industries first QB pocket heat map.

By utilizing the player’s XY coordinates, the Pass Protection widget provides a heat map to illustrate the protection that a quarterback has throughout a game. Passing attempts are plotted on top of the heat map to show whether the pass ended in an incompletion, a catch, an interception or a quarterback sack. The widget also includes passing statistics for an individual game compared to season averages,  including the hard to find Quarterback Time statistic.

This new insight provides media companies a unique way to analyze a team’s passing attack and aides in telling richer, more data filled stories that fans expect and crave.

The widget itself is easy to embed into articles and is completely responsive to different device sizes. For more information about the widget and how you can incorporate it into your content, please contact sales.
