Oklahoma City Thunder guard Russell Westbrook suffered a small fracture in his right hand during Thursday’s loss to the Los Angeles Clippers, according to The Oklahoman.
Westbrook was forced to leave the game with 6:35 left in the second quarter and was unable to return. X-rays were taken at Staples Center and Westbrook is expected to undergo further testing Friday.
The injury is a huge hit to the Thunder, who are already without forward Kevin Durant for a number of weeks due to a Jones fracture in his foot, as well as guards Reggie Jackson and Jeremy Lamb, who are sidelined with ankle and back injuries, respectively.
The team now has just eight healthy players on the active roster, with Sebastian Telfair likely to start at point guard in place of Westbrook until Jackson is able to return, which could happen as soon as this weekend.
