St. Louis Rams head coach Jeff Fisher confirmed Sunday that quarterback Sam Bradford is out for the season with a torn left ACL.Bradford blew out the same knee in Week 7 last season. Initial tests showed only a hyperextension, but an MRI Sunday confirmed the tear.

Fisher called it every coach’s “nightmare.” Bradford took a hit on the knee by linebacker Barkevious Mingo, and then a few plays later was hit again by defensive lineman Armonty Bryant on an incompletion.

The Rams will now turn to Shaun Hill at quarterback.

Bradford might have already played his last game for the Rams. He has already received $50 million guaranteed in his rookie contract signed in 2010, and the Rams have to consider whether to bring him back next year for nearly $17 million or release him.

He’s been plagued by injuries since his junior year at Oklahoma.
