Cincinnati Bengals Pro Bowl wide receiver A.J. Green will not play Sunday against the Carolina Panthers due to a toe injury, according to ESPN.

Green turned up at Friday’s practice with a boot on his injured right foot following a visit to a specialist and was officially listed as questionable on the injury report. He aggravated a toe injury during Wednesday’s practice and had to be carted off the field.

Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis said on SiriusXM Radio that Green was dealing with “a little bit more than (turf toe).”

With Marvin Jones still recovering from an ankle injury, Mohamed Sanu and Brandon Tate could start against the Panthers, with James Wright and Dane Sanzenbacher also likely to see an increase in playing time.

Green has 17 catches on 25 targets for 314 yards and two touchdowns in four games this season.
